Balfron Golf Club
Tee off at Balfron Golf Club
Balfron Golf Society runs an 18-hole course, located at this golf club in a beautiful area of West Stirlingshire, just a 15-minute drive away from Loch Lomond Waterfront. The club welcomes visitors and you can book a tee time online in advance.
Course and facilities
This parkland golf course opened in 1994 with 9 holes and was extended to 18 holes in 2001. It sits on the site of a much older course, which was given up for agricultural use during World War II.
It’s a beautifully-maintained, challenging and hilly course, offering magnificent views of the Loch Lomond and Campsie Mountains. There are also practice facilities and a small clubhouse. Some catering is available and Course Rangers patrol the course, providing help and information to players.
Booking a tee time
Visitors are welcome at Balfron Golf Club and you can book a tee time online. You can also arrange to hire clubs in advance if required. Please check the fixture list for tee bookings and competition days, as there may be some restrictions. The club updates its course status each day on Twitter @balfrongolf so it’s useful to check this before visiting.
How to get there
Balfron Golf Club is found in the village of Balfron, on the edge of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Postcode for sat nav is G63 0SZ. Full location details are available on the club’s website.

An absolutely amazing wedding dayWe had an absolutely amazing wedding day at Loch Lomond Waterfront. Lloyd and I loved getting married down at the water. The sun shone the whole day which made it even more special. Our guests also loved the venue and how peaceful it was during our ceremony. It was lovely just listening to the water during the minister's prayers. Lloyd and I both loved the intimacy of the venue and the stunning scenery it had to offer. The transitions for each part of the day were so quick and smooth. Even the guests commented on how smoothly everything ran. Our...
Outstanding location'The location is outstanding - right on the edge of Loch Lomond with private water frontage and beaches. As a location for exploring, again this rates very highly. We easily accessed central Glasgow by train from nearby Balloch and also explored Stirling (particularly the castle and Wallace memorial), the Falkirk Wheel and even Perth and Pitlochry by car. It is a very peaceful place, which can only be disturbed on occasion by your neighbours but with the Slumber Charter in place, we had absolutely no problems overnight.'
My stay will never be forgotten'Just wanted to say a very big thank you for my wonderful stay, I have no words to describe the incredible comfort I had at the Cawdor Diamond Lodge, I just checked out today this morning from lodge 5, I do not agree that your lodge is a five star if I could I would call it a 100 star lodge. From start to finish, my stay at the lodge will never be forgotten it's special and unique and an amazing experience'
Right up there with the best'We have travelled the world and stayed in all sorts of accommodation - Loch Lomond Waterfront is right up there with the best. The facilities, quality of fixtures and fittings and the setting all add up to a superb holiday experience and one that I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. Outstanding!'
A magical getaway'It is not at all a surprise that you are fully booked. If there is one place in the world we would like to be this summer, that place is Loch Lomond Waterfront Lodges, and I’m sure the only people who don’t share this passion are those, who simply have never been there. What a magical getaway and a retreat you have created! Thank you for that.'
