About our shepherd’s huts
Our shepherd’s huts provide the ultimate touch of luxury to your glamping stay and provide an escape from the fast pace of everyday life. Available for short and long-term rentals, the huts are the closest to the loch of all our accommodation. They are nestled by woodland, opposite our duck pond. The Dipper and The Duck are both dog-friendly, whilst The Goose remains pet-free. But all of them are muddy-boots-friendly!
Our huts come with linen and towels as well as locally handmade soap, shower and hair gel, and two toilet rolls in the bathroom. The kitchens are equipped with a single induction hob, kettle, fridge, tea, coffee, milk, and locally made shortbread. And just to make life even easier, eco-friendly washing-up liquid and detergents are also included.
Dog-friendly or pet-free options
Two of our shepherd’s huts are dog (or pet) friendly. This means your furry friends don’t need to miss out on the adventure. They will be spoilt for things to do in the area with mountains to climb, forests to explore and Britain’s biggest expanse of inland water to splash and swim in.
When booking, please select the shepherd’s hut you want to stay in:
- Dipper (one pet allowed – charges apply)
- Duck (one pet allowed – charges apply)
- Goose (no pets)
Alfresco dining and onsite bistro
Each hut has its own self-catering kitchenette area. BBQs are also available to buy from our shop. So, you can make the most of the outdoor life and dine alfresco. But if all that sounds like too much hard work, the Perch bistro, situated onsite, provides devilishly good breakfast, brunch, and lunch. You can also grab takeaway treats at the Perch, to enjoy on the go. (Please note: The Perch is currently closed.) To make the most of the outdoor space into the evening, we have firepits available, and there is a pre-built bonfire pit on our private beach. Bring your own logs.
Walking and fishing holidays
Our shepherd’s huts provide the perfect accommodation for outdoor activities in the Loch Lomond area. You don’t have to worry about muddy boots (or paws for that matter). Making them ideal for walkers doing the West Highland Way, or those looking to go fishing in the local lochs and rivers. Either bring your own boat, or hire one locally. Fishing permits are available from the local shop next door.
Family glamping holidays
We have three shepherd’s huts, each sleeping 2 people. Families may wish to book two, or all three of the huts to accommodate a larger group (subject to availability). This is a great option for family glamping holidays. Experience the great outdoors, while staying in the comfort of our cosy pods with double beds and ensuite boutique bathrooms.

Stunning from top to bottom'We booked this to relax after a family tragedy and it was the perfect tonic. Stunning from top to bottom. The rooms were perfect with all the facilities needed. The hot tub on a winters evening took it to another level. The blackout curtains, allied to no light pollution outside, meant wakening up was the most natural I had experienced for years.'
My stay will never be forgotten'Just wanted to say a very big thank you for my wonderful stay, I have no words to describe the incredible comfort I had at the Cawdor Diamond Lodge, I just checked out today this morning from lodge 5, I do not agree that your lodge is a five star if I could I would call it a 100 star lodge. From start to finish, my stay at the lodge will never be forgotten it's special and unique and an amazing experience'
Our own private beach'Just walking along the West Highland way path past some of the crowded beaches made us realise the value of having your own private waterfront onto the loch. I can still picture walking down to the lochside on our first evening and watching an osprey dive for a fish!'
Wish we had longer'The ducks were very amusing, each day they waddled around the lodges looking for food, we bought some duck food for them in the local village shop. We just wished we were here for longer and hope to return in the future.'
A perfect place to relax'Stayed at the Waterfront Lodges for a Fri to Mon short break for our daughters birthday last weekend. Lodge was placed right on the edge of Loch Lomond with stunning views.'
