Things to do in Callander

Callander is a lovely wee town near Stirling. Just around a 30-minute drive from your accommodation at Loch Lomond Waterfront. A great place for a day trip during your stay. Here are some of our favourite things to do in Callander …

Amazing Walks

Callander and the surrounding area is very beautiful. There are many stunning walks with varying degrees of difficulty nearby. Bracklinn Falls is a popular walk with wonderful views of the falls. It’s a fairly easy route with a good path. To make the walk longer and a bit more challenging, you can join it up with Callander Crags. If you’re into hill walking, you may wish to climb Ben A’an. At 454 metres high, it’s one of Scotland’s smaller hills, but the view from the top is still spectacular.

Galleries, Museums and Shops

There are many independent businesses in Callander, which are lots of fun to explore. Such as Hamilton Toy Museum, a toy museum and collector’s shop with five rooms packed with toys of all types from all eras. It’s a great trip down memory lane! For art lovers, there’s Galleria Luti, a contemporary art gallery with original paintings, jewellery and hand-crafted gifts for sale. And, of course, the quirky Lady Kentmore’s Antiques. A treasure trove of antiques, curios and collectables.

Eating Out

With bistros, cafes, bakeries, pubs and restaurants to choose from, Callander is great for eating out. Either sit in or take out, you can enjoy a delicious lunch, while out and about in the town.

So, after walking, shopping and exploring Callander, it’s just a short drive back to your luxury accommodation at Loch Lomond Waterfront. Where you can put your feet up, or relax in the hot tub. A perfect end to the day!

Testimonials

  • A magical getaway

'It is not at all a surprise that you are fully booked.  If there is one place in the world we would like to be this summer, that place is Loch Lomond Waterfront Lodges, and I’m sure the only people who don’t share this passion are those, who simply have never been there. What a magical getaway and a retreat you have created! Thank you for that.'
  • Such a beautiful setting

'Myself and my partner recently stayed in Drummond Lodge (from 21-24 Feb) and we just wanted to say thank you so much for a lovely stay. We loved our lodge, it was like a home from home, and we really didn’t want to leave! It was spotlessly clean and in such a beautiful setting. All the staff we met were really friendly. We also loved Balmaha, what a wonderful village. So thank you very much! We are the couple that took Flynn for a walk and we took this photo of him... we thought you’d appreciate a copy. Thanks once again...
  • Our own private beach

'Just walking along the West Highland way path past some of the crowded beaches made us realise the value of having your own private waterfront onto the loch.  I can still picture walking down to the lochside on our first evening and watching an osprey dive for a fish!'
  • 40th celebration

'My husband and I came here to celebrate my 40th birthday and we truly had a magnificent time. There was everything that you needed in your accommodation even washing liquid and conditioner for the washing machine. The hot tub and steam room were a real highlight as well as the living log fire.'
  • Everything was more than perfect

'Everything was more than perfect, more than what we can ask for. And the view priceless, the whole stay was priceless, so thank you ever so much, hope to see you soon.'
