Visit Auchentoshan Distillery

Around 20 miles from your accommodation at Loch Lomond Waterfront, Auchentoshan Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery to the south east of Loch Lomond, near Glasgow. Pronouced “Och-en-tosh-en”, the Gaelic name means “corner of the field”. This is a great local attraction, offering whisky tours and experiences in Scotland.

Whisky Collection

Dating from 1823, this lowland distillery produces an unusual triple-distilled single malt whisky with a smooth and delicate flavour. Most whisky in Scotland is distilled twice, but Auchentoshan insist on a third distillation, which helps create its signature taste. The whisky then matures in a sherry, bourbon or wine cask.

Perfect as a straight whisky, but also wonderful in a whisky cocktail, this is a sweet and versatile spirit. View the whisky collection, along with the latest special editions.

Things to do at the distillery

At Auchentoshan Distillery, you can visit the gift shop and enjoy a tour. Where you’ll discover more about the whisky-making process. You can also take part in masterclasses and ‘bottle your own’ experiences.

There are several Auchentoshan tours to choose from. On the Auchentoshan Experience, visitors are taken on a tour of the distillery, followed by a tasting of four different single malt whiskies. While the more extensive Ultimate Experience includes access to hidden parts of the distillery and a sampling straight from the cask! Daily Masterclasses are also on offer, where visitors will learn more about the making of Auchentoshan.

In addition, the distillery has conference space, with a large meeting room available for events and functions. It has its own bar and breakout space.

Testimonials

  • Wish we had longer

'The ducks were very amusing, each day they waddled around the lodges looking for food, we bought some duck food for them in the local village shop. We just wished we were here for longer and hope to return in the future.'
  • Outstanding

'Chef in a lodge was outstanding. The food was excellent as was the service. Superb evening.'
  • Outstanding location

'The location is outstanding - right on the edge of Loch Lomond with private water frontage and beaches. As a location for exploring, again this rates very highly. We easily accessed central Glasgow by train from nearby Balloch and also explored Stirling (particularly the castle and Wallace memorial), the Falkirk Wheel and even Perth and Pitlochry by car. It is a very peaceful place, which can only be disturbed on occasion by your neighbours but with the Slumber Charter in place, we had absolutely no problems overnight.'
  • Such a beautiful setting

'Myself and my partner recently stayed in Drummond Lodge (from 21-24 Feb) and we just wanted to say thank you so much for a lovely stay. We loved our lodge, it was like a home from home, and we really didn’t want to leave! It was spotlessly clean and in such a beautiful setting. All the staff we met were really friendly. We also loved Balmaha, what a wonderful village. So thank you very much! We are the couple that took Flynn for a walk and we took this photo of him... we thought you’d appreciate a copy. Thanks once again...
  • The Lodges are amazing

'I would like to say that we all had an amazing time staying your lodges at the weekend.  The Lodges are amazing.  Beautifully presented and everything you need within.  Stunning location.  Muy birthday/retirement celebrations were made all the more special at this wonderful location with my friends around me.'
