What is Burns Night?

Burns Night is all about celebrating the life of Robert Burns. The first Burns Supper took place in 1801, when his friends gathered to remember him, since then it’s become an annual tradition in Scotland. The night usually includes a special meal called the Burns Supper of haggis, neeps (turnips) and tatties (potatoes), along with reciting Burns poetry, especially the famous Address to a Haggis. Whisky is a big part of the night, with toasts and speeches to Robert Burns. At Loch Lomond Waterfront, you can enjoy your own Burns Supper in one of our comfortable lodges.
