Crieff

Things to do in Crieff

Crieff is a pretty Scottish market town, near Perth and Callander. You can drive there in about 50 minutes from your accommodation at Loch Lomond Waterfront. It makes for a great day out near Loch Lomond. Here are some of our favourite things to do in Crieff …

Whisky Tours

One of the top attractions in Crieff is Glenturret Distillery. Established in 1775, it is the oldest working distillery in Scotland and still uses many traditional techniques today. In fact, it has the only remaining hand-operated mash tun in the country.

With a variety of tours to choose from, you’ll learn all about the whisky making process, while sampling a wee dram or two. The distillery even offers private blending sessions, where you can create your very own whisky to take home as a souvenir.

Gardens and Parks

Drummond Gardens are located within the grounds of Drummond Castle. They are a fine example of formal terraced gardens, remodelled for the Drummond family in the 1830s. They follow the layout of a 17th century Renaissance garden, with formal terraces, ornamental flower beds, symmetrical patterns, statues and fountains. The gardens are open from spring to autumn each year.

Macrosty Park is a beautiful area of parkland in Crieff with a stream called the Turret Burn running through it. It has an impressive collection of mature trees and a lovely Victorian bandstand. Perfect for picnics and walks, and with a large children’s play area.

Shopping, Arts & Antiques

Visit the Crieff Visitor Centre for great local shopping. Including large gift shop, art gallery, antiques area, garden centre and restaurant. Furthermore, its home to Caithness Glass shop and glass factory, where you can watch glassware being hand-crafted by experts. Take part in activities, such as glass painting or making your own glass paperweight. As well as browsing beautiful glass items in the shop.

With all of these things to do in Crieff, you can enjoy a great day out. Then, return to your luxury lodge or chalet here at Loch Lomond Waterfront. Where you can relax in comfort and start planning for tomorrow!

  • Could not have been happier

'We could not have been happier with our choice of Loch Lomond Waterfront as our wedding venue! The amazing, stunning and extremely scenic location is really just the start of a long list of great things about this venue. We loved having site exclusivity for the whole weekend, it really made the atmosphere fun and got everyone socialising well. The wedding coordinator/manager, Sheena, is AMAZING and a total credit to the venue!! She is a dynamo that makes everything seem easy. We also loved how much flexibility and choice we had with pretty much everything about our wedding, and how...
