New luxury Romantic Retreat on the banks of Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond Waterfront, the loch’s most intimate lodge resort, unveils new 5-star Romantic Retreat chalet.

On the edge of the picturesque highland village of Balmaha the five star Loch Lomond Waterfront self-catering lodges now offers couples a romantic escape in the heart of Scotland’s national park.

On the bonny banks of Loch Lomond we sat in the hot tub at night looking over the loch watching Ducks, rabbits and deer roaming about. Said one guest1

With only a handful of lodges grouped together on the large 18 acre site, the new Romantic Retreat chalet is aimed at couples and honeymooners looking for something memorable and charming. In one of the most scenic destinations in the UK, renowned worldwide for its peace and tranquillity, couples can enjoy beautiful views of Loch Lomond  from their own private, hot tub on the patio whilst  sipping their complimentary champagne provided by the proprietors.

Proprietor Charles Cottam says:

“It is the relaxed, private nature of the site and the enchanting surroundings that make this place so special for couples. We are the only site on Loch Lomond to have our own private beach for our guests2. This is what makes us so special.  We try hard to preserve the peace and serenity of this exclusive place undisturbed by passers by.  Guests wanting company can find it in the great local country pubs or enjoy the outstanding local walks during the day.

Every lodge or chalet3 has its own private hot tub but the new Romantic Retreat has additional features. The adjustable mood lighting, real-flame fire, four- poster, super king-size bed and two-person steam shower add to the romantic atmosphere.

The warm welcome coupled with the sublime quality of the lodges themselves set us up nicely for what was to be the most relaxing two days I remember in a long time! My wife and I felt the same level of refreshment as If we had been away for over a week!comments another guest5.

In addition to the joys of the location and the lodge facilities, there are additional services such as the Chef-in-a-Lodge where Robin Merrick, a highly trained chef and his assistant will cook a private three course meal in the intimacy of a couple’s chalet. There is a wide range of menu options available featuring locally- sourced meat and produce4.

Spa days can also be enjoyed without leaving the chalet due to the range of treatments that are provided by the Waterfront’s beauty therapist Claire Crawford.  Ladies love the wide range of treatments such as massages, facials and manicures whilst gentlemen usually prefer to soak in the hot tub or steam shower and then enjoy a relaxing massage.

Mrs Suzanne Cottam finishes. “We love welcoming back familiar faces. Couples who have married here often return for their anniversary and it’s not uncommon to be told by our guests that they became engaged whilst staying with us.”

About Loch Lomond waterfront

Specifically designed and built in 2006, we are a five-star luxury lodge site comprising three single-storey chalets and eight double storey lodges, all with panoramic views of Loch Lomond. Each lodge or chalet has two double or twin en-suite bedrooms and a double sofa bed to sleep up to six. They also benefit from private hot tubs on the patio and a steam cabinet. Our enhanced Diamond Lodge has been upgraded to include a sauna room, whilst our romantic retreat includes a double steam cabinet. We are also a pet friendly site and allow dogs and cats in some of our lodges.

We are a family run business and have lived in the village for over 20 years. Our dream has been to build and run an intimate, five-star lodge resort which leaves guests wanting to come back time and time again. We wanted something that matches the most renowned operators but on a scale that is personal and private.

Our small yet efficient team is wedded to the same ideals of quality and service. Many live on site so that we can respond quickly to customers needs.

We think our site is the quietest and most tranquil around Loch Lomond. With just a handful of lodges nestled at the foot of the Conic Hill in the village of Balmaha, there is little coming and going so you wont be disturbed.  And with 18 acres of private loch side grounds, including our own private beach, you can find space to do your own thing, unwind and live a slower paced life.
