Glasgow
Outskirts 20 minutes Centre 35 minutes.
One or Europe's most vibrant and surprising cities. Once called "the second city" of the British Empire. Glasgow was an industrial powerhouse in Victorian times. Many of its grandest and most extraordinary buildings survive and some house the city's famous collections of art and sculpture. Glasgow is a gourmet's delight with many restaurants. It is has the Royal Concert Hall and is the home of the Scottish National Opera and The Scottish National Ballet. Glasgow also has the best selection of shops outside of London.
Edinburgh
Outskirts and airport 1 hour. Centre 1 hour 15 minutes.
Scotland's ancient capital and one of the most beautiful cities in Northern Europe. Visit Edinburgh Castle which overlooks the old town and the elegant Georgian terraces of the "New" town. The National Art Galleries of Scotland are here and Princes Street is possibly the most beautiful shopping street in the world.
Stirling & Perth
Stirling: 30 minutes. Perth: 50 minutes
Any trip Eastwards to Edinburgh, Fife or the Eastern Highlands takes you past STIRLING and its famous castle. Visit the Bannockburn battlefield or take the motorway north towards Perth and Pitlochry .

- CEILIDHS AND SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING. When you stay in one of our lodges you are in the middle of a real community. There are often country dances to enjoy in the various hotels and local village halls.

Try the Oak Tree Inn, only a 5 minute walk away or take the car into DRYMEN (3 miles) the nearest village with a selection of hotels shops and restaurants.
